My name is Charlotte Grigg Parker. I have been baking for over 50 years. It is a love that I learned from my mother and was further sparked by my home economics teacher in grade school. I had winning baking entries in the Michigan State Fair from 1972 until the fair closed in 2009.
I have a BS in Computer Science from Wayne State University and was a programmer for 13 years. I quit work to stay home with our two daughters. They started baking with me as toddlers. As the girls grew, I started thinking about turning my baking, something I had only done for family, friends, and coworkers; into a business. I started the Baking and Pastry Arts program at Mott Community College in 2008. I graduated with Highest Honors in 2011 with an Associate of Applied Science in Baking and Pastry Arts.
I worked at Cranberries Café in Goodrich, Michigan, from 2011 until it closed in 2023. I made their BIG Chocolate Cake and Cranberry Bread Pudding. The Chocolate Cake came in 3rd place in mLive.com’s Michigan’s Best Dessert Top Ten in 2016. The Cranberry Bread Pudding won People’s Choice award in 2016 at Townsquare Media’s Dessert Wars.
In 2013, I started my own baking business, Charlotte’s Baked Goods. I operate under Michigan’s Cottage Food Law which allows me to make and sell products which are made in my home kitchen. I have a current ServSafe certification and Allergen certification.
